Troubleshooting VIS video problems - ATI All-In-Wonder
Most of the video input problems can be traced to problems with installing the ATI board and drivers or not having the video source configured and connected properly to the computer.
Correct VIS settings
The dialog boxes below, accessed in VIS via Edit->Setup->Video, shows the correct configuration for VIS video capture options when using the ATI All-In-Wonder board.

Problem: Purple screens are occasionally captured, even if the live video is being displayed correctly. This usually only occurs on the first capture after the video is turned on in VIS.
Solution: Set the INT jumper on your ATI board to DISabled. The default mode is ENAbled. Refer to the ATI manual for details. (Note: the ATI AIW Pro AGP does not appear to have this jumper, even though it is documented in the ATI manual)
Problem: You get a message saying that no video capture device is available, and/or the ATI multimedia Video Driver is not available in the VIS video device selection box.
Solution: You must install the ATI multimedia player from the ATI CD. This is a separate installation than that of the ATI All-In-Wonder driver.
Problem: You start the video capture in VIS (F4) but you only see a blue screen.
Solution: The video source is not configured or connected properly. Things to check:
Problem: You cannot display and/or record what is displayed on the computer screen on a TV monitor or VCR.
Solution: There is no setting within VIS to control this you must have the TV output option of the ATI card enabled. To enable the video output, you MUST have a TV or VCR connected (black cable, yellow or S-video connector) and you must be running at a resolution of 800x600 or lower. If a TV or VCR is connected, enable the TV output by:
